Denver Squirrel Situation: Hi David, I have some very cute squirrels that I feed throughout the year. They have moved into my shop attic. I've read about different methods of getting them out, but my question is about the timing of it. Would it be cruel to run them out during the winter months, leaving them homeless during the cold wet weather? Would they have babies up there right now, or do they only have babies during the spring/summer months? If I build a house for them near my shop, do you think they would move into it after I smoke them out of my attic? I live in the Pacific Northwest and I am not sure what type of squirrels we have here. I understand that this is a busy time of year, I am not in a hurry for reply. Merry Christmas, Karen

My response: Babies usually in August and January, winter exclusions can be hard on squirrels, but Pacific NW is more temperate.
