Little Rock Squirrel Situation: Hi there, Just stumbled across your very informative site about squirrels in the attic. I am tackling a big job at my girlfriend's house -- she has squirrels in the attic and also in the walls. I think I can set up an exclusion tunnel like you described on the exit/entrance hole on the side of the house, then seal it up. However, they are also getting into the walls on the bottom of the house, through a gap between the wooden shingle siding and the foundation.

Two questions: 1. The foundation is made of stone and mortar. They can easily chew through the shingles. My question is, how can I seal this gap? I can't put screws into the stone...I don't know how else to seal off the holes but with screening. Any ideas?

2. To prevent future holes: can I use four to five inch metal prongs screwed onto a board and sticking out laterally to block the squirrels from climbing the wall? Can they crawl over this kind of thing? I can put it high enough so they can't jump over it from the ground... Thanks for any advice, James

My response: Seal the holes with either concrete or crumpled up steel mesh and sealant (like caulk or Great Stuff Foam). The metal prongs will not prevent them from climing wherever they want to go.

Its 11/8/15 I live in Little Rock AR. I hear chewing & scratching in my bedroom ceiling, I saw squirrel's so I know it's them I am going to do the one way door, I need to know if they have baby's this time of year to wait, or am I OK to put it in now? Have just found out that I may have this problem. Are the plug-in pest control units using sound wave technology of use in eradicating them? I live alone, and don't have the resources to embark on hiring someone to check traps, etc.

Hello, Our tenants in our house reported that they hear noises in the attic. We took care of the problem a couple years ago, so I assume the company we hired did not do a good enough job. Please call my tenant to arrange a time to come to the house and give us an estimate. As we live abroad, Please reply with your findings and estimate to this mail. Thank you.
